COURSE CURRICULUM

The combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program requires students to complete a total of 80 units of study, structured to provide both broad humanities education and advanced legal training. The Bachelor of Arts component accounts for 32 units and allows students to customise their studies through either two majors or a combination of one extended major and one minor. This flexibility enables students to build strong academic expertise across humanities and social sciences disciplines while tailoring their degree to personal interests and career goals. The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) component comprises 48 units and is designed to develop comprehensive legal knowledge and professional skills. Within this, 36 units consist of core law courses that cover essential areas such as constitutional law, contracts, criminal law, torts, property law, and legal theory, providing a strong foundation in the Australian legal system. The remaining 12 units are flexible core courses, allowing students to explore specialised areas of law and broaden their understanding of legal practice. The program focuses on developing critical thinking, analytical reasoning, research skills, and the ability to construct clear and persuasive legal arguments. Graduates earn an internationally recognised honours qualification and meet the academic requirements for admission as a legal practitioner in Australia, opening career pathways in law, public policy, international relations, business, and government sectors.
