COURSE CURRICULUM

The curriculum spans five years, starting with foundational sciences in anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. Year 2 introduces pathology, microbiology, and parasitology. Years 3 and 4 focus on clinical skills in small and large animal medicine, surgery, and diagnostics. Core courses include Veterinary Professional Foundations, Animal Handling and Husbandry, Veterinary Nutrition, and Epidemiology. Students undertake rotations in equine, production animal, and wildlife medicine. The final year includes advanced clinical practice, research projects, and electives. The honours component involves a research thesis. Practical training occurs at the Gatton campus farms and clinical facilities.
