COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program begins with a common core of foundational studies designed to build strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Students complete core courses in engineering practice, programming, and advanced mathematics, including calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, and introductory software engineering. In the flexible first year, students may also take foundation engineering subjects and electives to explore different areas before selecting a specialisation. From the second year onward, students choose a discipline such as Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Software Engineering. Each specialisation includes a major component with discipline-specific advanced study, along with optional minors or electives that allow customisation of learning. Students may further deepen expertise through research projects, industry-focused subjects, or interdisciplinary minors such as data science, computing, artificial intelligence, or design. Advanced courses cover specialised topics relevant to each field, such as structural systems, power engineering, robotics, fluid mechanics, machine learning, or systems design. Breadth and general electives provide additional flexibility to broaden knowledge across engineering or other university disciplines. Across all specialisations, students develop strong practical experience through hands-on labs, design studios, and project-based learning. The program is structured to ensure graduates are industry-ready, capable of working in complex engineering environments, and prepared for careers in global technology, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and emerging innovation sectors.
