COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Cyber Security and Forensics is a structured and advanced program focused on developing deep technical, analytical, and investigative expertise in cybersecurity, digital forensics, and cyber law. The curriculum includes 192 units of required coursework covering foundational and advanced topics such as introduction to cybersecurity, ethics in digital investigation, device and network security, cryptography, blockchain security, and cyber laws and rules of evidence. Students also build strong analytical and technical competencies through subjects like programming, data management, evidence-based decision making, and project management principles. A major component of the program is dedicated to digital forensics training, including digital forensics fundamentals, network forensics, and advanced forensic techniques that enable students to investigate cyber incidents and analyse digital evidence from complex systems. The program culminates in a two-part research or industry dissertation, where students apply their knowledge to real-world cybersecurity challenges and develop advanced research or practical solutions. Emphasis is placed on ethical practice, legal compliance, and responsible handling of digital information. Graduates develop strong problem-solving, leadership, and critical thinking skills, preparing them for careers in cybersecurity analysis, digital forensic investigation, incident response, cyber risk management, and roles within government, law enforcement, and private cybersecurity industries globally.
