COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Sports Studies program provides a multidisciplinary education that combines sport science foundations with applied skills in communication, marketing, and event management to prepare students for careers in the sport and fitness industry. The introductory stage includes core subjects such as Anatomy and Physiology, Think Health, Introduction to Sport and Exercise Science, Introduction to Coaching Science, Exercise Prescription and Programming I, and Introduction to Behavioural Health, which establish essential knowledge in human movement, health, and sport fundamentals. The developing stage builds on this foundation through Principles of Nutrition, Sport and Exercise Psychology, and Motor Control and Learning, providing deeper insight into how nutrition, psychology, and movement control influence performance and wellbeing. The graduate stage includes Nutrition for Health and Exercise and a Professional Placement in Sport Studies, offering practical industry experience and applied learning. Students then specialise through a major in areas such as Journalism, Marketing, or Tourism, Leisure and Event Management, allowing them to tailor their studies toward media, business, or recreation-focused careers. A significant portion of the program consists of elective courses, enabling further specialisation in fields like public relations, small business management, outdoor studies, or sports nutrition. Overall, the degree equips graduates with both scientific understanding and industry-ready skills for diverse roles in the sport, media, and recreation sectors.
