COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science program is designed to develop a strong foundation in the science of human movement and its application to health, fitness, and athletic performance. The introductory stage includes core subjects such as Think Health, Human Physiology, Human Anatomy, Science Research Methods, Physical Activity and Health, Introduction to Sport and Exercise Science, Introduction to Coaching Science, and Exercise Prescription and Programming I. These courses establish essential knowledge in anatomy, physiology, movement science, and basic exercise programming. The developing stage builds on this foundation through more advanced study in Functional Anatomy, Biomechanics I, Exercise Physiology I, Sports and Exercise Medicine, Sport and Exercise Psychology, Motor Control and Learning, and Exercise Prescription and Programming II, providing deeper understanding of how the body responds to physical activity and how performance can be improved. The graduate stage focuses on specialised and applied learning, including Nutrition for Health and Exercise, Exercise Science Professional Practicum, Performance Enhancement, Biomechanics II, Exercise Physiology II, Professional Placement in Sport and Exercise Science, and Advanced Coaching Science. Students also complete elective courses to broaden their expertise. A key feature of the program is extensive practical experience through professional practicums and placements, preparing students for real-world work environments. Overall, the degree equips graduates for careers in exercise science, sports performance, rehabilitation, coaching, and health promotion.
