COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Environmental Science curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong understanding of environmental systems, sustainability, and the interaction between human activity and the natural world. The program begins with introductory courses covering earth surface processes, environmental management, biodiversity, ecology, sustainability, planetary health, and science research methods. These foundational subjects help students understand key environmental concepts and develop basic research and analytical skills. In the developing and graduate stages, students study advanced topics such as planning and environmental law, climate change mitigation and adaptation, plant and ecosystem ecology, environmental impact assessment, geographic information systems, sustainability frameworks, environmental health risk management, environmental economics, and integrated environmental management. The program also explores globalisation, development, and Indigenous perspectives, providing a broad understanding of social and cultural dimensions of environmental issues. Students further enhance their practical and applied skills through a choice of field studies, special research projects, or workplace learning experiences. This allows them to engage directly with real-world environmental challenges and professional contexts.
