COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronic) (Honours) curriculum is designed to develop multidisciplinary skills that integrate mechanical, electrical, electronic, and computer engineering for the design of intelligent and automated systems. The program begins with introductory courses in engineering materials, professional engineering practice, engineering design, statics, computing, applied mathematics, calculus, and physics, which build a strong foundation in core engineering principles. In the developing stage, students study digital logic and programming, electronics, sustainable engineering design, thermodynamics, systems and signals, electrical machines and drives, and advanced mathematics, strengthening their understanding of interconnected engineering systems. At the graduate level, students engage in specialised subjects such as electronic design, digital signal processing, robotics and autonomous systems, machine component design, system dynamics and control, embedded systems, engineering management, image processing and machine vision, actuators and drives, and engineering computer applications. A major feature of the program is the two-part engineering project, where students apply theoretical knowledge to real-world mechatronic challenges through research, design, and implementation. The program also emphasises system integration, automation, and intelligent technologies, preparing students for advanced engineering roles. Honours classification is based on performance in advanced-level courses. Overall, the degree prepares graduates for careers in robotics, automation, artificial intelligence systems, manufacturing, and advanced engineering industries.
