COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Design curriculum is structured to develop students’ creative, technical, and conceptual skills through a combination of foundational learning, professional practice, and specialised study. The program begins with introductory courses that establish core competencies in design principles, photography, digital culture, design methods, drawing practice, and introductory game programming. These subjects help students build a strong visual and technical foundation while encouraging experimentation and creative exploration. At the graduate level, students complete a course in creative engagement, which focuses on applying design thinking and collaborative practices in real-world contexts. Students also choose between a work-integrated learning project or placement, providing valuable industry experience and the opportunity to apply their skills in professional environments. A key feature of the degree is its flexible structure, allowing students to select a major and additional major or minors from areas such as visual communication, game design, interactive media, and digital culture. This flexibility enables students to tailor their studies according to their interests and career goals within the design field.
