COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) at UniSC is structured to give students a complete understanding of human behaviour through scientific study and practical learning. The program begins with introductory courses such as Introduction to Psychology A and B, Current Directions in Psychology, and Research Methods and Analysis 1, which build a strong foundation in psychological concepts and basic research skills. In the developing stage, students study key areas including physiological psychology, human development, social psychology, motivation and emotion, interpersonal and group skills, and advanced research methods, helping them understand how individuals think, feel, and interact with others. The graduate-level courses provide deeper knowledge in specialised areas such as cognitive and perceptual psychology, intercultural and Indigenous psychologies, personality and assessment, learning processes, psychological disorders, health and wellbeing, and adult development and ageing. These subjects develop advanced analytical, research, and critical thinking skills. In addition, students complete elective courses that allow them to explore related interests and broaden their academic experience. Overall, this degree equips students with a strong scientific understanding of psychology, preparing them for careers in mental health, research, human services, education, and further study toward becoming a registered psychologist or pursuing postgraduate qualifications such as a PhD.
