COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts / Science at UniSC is a flexible interdisciplinary degree that combines arts, humanities, and scientific studies to prepare students for a wide range of careers. The program begins with introductory courses that build foundational knowledge in communication, research, and scientific understanding. Students study subjects such as Cell Diversity, Biodiversity and Ecology, Introductory Chemistry, Science Research Methods, and Discovering Science, along with humanities-focused courses like Communication, Theory, and Indigenous Studies. This combination helps students develop both scientific literacy and strong communication skills. In the developing stage, students explore future planning through Planning Your World: Your Future Directions. The program also includes specialised skill-building courses in statistics, research methods, and data analysis, which are essential for scientific and social research. Practical learning is an important part of the degree, with options such as work-integrated learning projects, field studies, workplace learning, or special research projects that provide real-world experience. Students can also choose extended majors, majors, and minors to further specialise in areas that match their interests and career goals. Overall, this degree equips students with a strong blend of scientific knowledge, analytical thinking, and communication skills, preparing them for careers in research, environmental science, planning, industry, and public sector organisations.
