COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts major in Screen Media at UniSC consists of eight structured courses that develop both creative and technical skills in film, television, and digital media production. The program begins with Introduction to Screen and Media Industries, where students gain an understanding of how the screen industry operates and the roles within it. This is followed by Creative Production, which introduces basic media creation skills, and Writing for Screens, where students learn how to develop scripts for different screen formats. Students then progress to Screen Media Production, focusing on hands-on skills in filming and production techniques, and Screen Media and Pop Culture, which explores the influence of media on society and culture. The program also includes Animation Principles, Process and Production, where students learn foundational animation skills and digital storytelling techniques. In the advanced stage, Screen Media: Showcase in Practice allows students to develop professional-level projects under guidance, while Design Capstone provides a final opportunity to demonstrate their skills through a major creative project. Throughout the major, students gain practical experience using industry-standard tools and technologies. Overall, this Screen Media major prepares graduates for careers in film production, television, animation, digital content creation, and other roles within the creative media and entertainment industries.
