COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Theology is a postgraduate program designed for students with an undergraduate degree in theology or ministry, providing advanced knowledge and skills across theological disciplines. Graduates gain a deep understanding of key sources, terms, and concepts, and develop mastery in research principles, analytical techniques, and communication skills applicable to theology and its related fields. The program equips students with advanced abilities in interpretation and critical reflection, enabling them to analyze theological concepts within historical and contemporary contexts and to generate and evaluate ideas for professional practice and further study. Graduates are able to articulate and communicate complex theological insights to both specialist and non-specialist audiences, and apply relevant theological and hermeneutical skills through substantial research projects, a capstone unit, theological synthesis, or supervised ministry experiences.The course is structured around 240 points, including up to 48 points of postgraduate foundational units in any discipline. Students complete either a capstone unit of at least 24 points or a 48-point minor thesis, alongside further postgraduate elective units in their chosen discipline. This structure allows students to tailor their study to areas of interest while ensuring rigorous scholarly and practical engagement. Graduates are well-prepared for advanced professional roles, ministry leadership, and further academic research in theology or related fields.
