COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Divinity equips students with advanced knowledge and skills in divinity and its related disciplines, building on prior undergraduate study. Graduates develop mastery in research principles, analytical methods, and communication skills, allowing them to interpret texts, engage critically with theological and related disciplines, and apply insights to both historical and contemporary contexts. They are capable of generating and evaluating ideas for professional practice, further learning, and community engagement, while communicating complex concepts to specialist and non-specialist audiences. The degree also emphasizes practical application through substantial research projects, theological synthesis, or supervised ministry work, ensuring graduates can integrate scholarly knowledge with real-world ministry contexts.The course is structured around 432 points of study, combining postgraduate-level language study, foundational coursework, and elective units. Students complete 48 points in biblical or associated languages and between 120 and 144 points at the foundational level, which includes 48 points each in Biblical Studies and Christian Thought and History, and 24 points in Mission and Ministry. The elective component ranges from 192 to 240 points, incorporating 24 points each in Biblical Studies, Christian Thought and History, and Mission and Ministry. The program culminates in either a capstone unit of at least 24 points or a 48-point minor thesis, allowing students to demonstrate their ability to synthesize knowledge, conduct research, and apply theological insights practically. This structure ensures graduates are well-prepared for professional ministry, theological scholarship, and further postgraduate study.
