COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diploma in Theology equips students with a strong foundational understanding of Christian texts, traditions and theological thinking through a structured introduction to Biblical Studies and Christian Thought and History. Graduates develop the ability to critically study Christian scriptures, interpret key theological ideas and articulate their knowledge with clarity and depth. The course strengthens analytical skills, enabling students to evaluate theological arguments and communicate them effectively across a range of contexts. Learners also gain the capacity to apply their developing knowledge not only to their own faith tradition but also to diverse cultural and religious settings, fostering thoughtful engagement with different perspectives. The course consists of 144 credit points, providing a balanced academic structure that supports both foundational and extended learning. Students complete 36 points in Biblical Studies, where they explore scripture, its interpretation and its significance within Christian belief. Another 36 points are completed in Christian Thought and History, offering insights into the development of Christian theology, historical movements and key figures that have shaped the tradition. The remaining 72 points may be taken in any discipline, giving students flexibility to broaden their study into practical ministry, further theological topics or other complementary fields that enhance their understanding and vocational goals. This combination of core and elective study allows students to tailor the qualification to their interests while maintaining a solid grounding in essential theological disciplines.
