COURSE CURRICULUM

Upon completion of the Surveying and Spatial Information program, graduates will possess a comprehensive and theory-based understanding of the fundamental principles that underpin engineering and the natural and physical sciences relevant to the discipline. They will demonstrate a strong conceptual grasp of mathematics, numerical analysis, statistics, and computer and information sciences essential for surveying, spatial data analysis, and geospatial technologies. Graduates will also acquire in-depth knowledge in specialist areas such as geodesy, remote sensing, spatial information systems, GPS/GNSS technology, and geospatial data management.They will develop discernment in recognising new directions and advancements in research, technology, and innovation within the surveying and spatial sciences fields. Graduates will understand the contextual factors influencing engineering and geospatial practice, including environmental, social, economic, and regulatory considerations. They will also have a clear comprehension of the principles, scope, professional standards, and ethical responsibilities that define contemporary surveying and spatial engineering practice.Graduates will be proficient in applying established engineering and geospatial methods to complex problem-solving, utilising systematic approaches to design, analysis, and project management. They will demonstrate fluent application of modern tools, techniques, and technologies to collect, interpret, and manage spatial data effectively. Additionally, they will be able to design, implement, and evaluate innovative surveying and geospatial solutions that support sustainable development and informed decision-making.The program also cultivates strong professional attributes.
