COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Business Administration (Global)/Master of Science (Data Analytics) program at the University of Newcastle requires students to complete 170 units, consisting of 130 units of core courses and 40 units of courses selected from the course list. The program integrates advanced business management education with data analytics expertise, preparing students to address complex challenges in global organisations through strategic decision-making and data-driven insights. Core business courses develop knowledge in international accounting, leading and managing people, twenty-first-century marketing management, global financial management, macroeconomics for managers, competitive dynamics and global strategy, and industry practice and career development. These subjects strengthen students’ understanding of international business operations, leadership, financial decision-making, market strategies, and professional practice. The data analytics component provides technical skills in database management, data wrangling and visualisation, predictive analytics, systems thinking, business intelligence, and applied analytics projects. Students learn how to collect, manage, analyse, interpret, and communicate data to support organisational performance and strategic planning.
