COURSE CURRICULUM

The Statistics major within the Bachelor of Science (Advanced) at the University of Newcastle develops students’ expertise in data analysis, statistical modelling, mathematical methods, and evidence-based decision-making. The program combines advanced mathematics with applied statistical techniques, preparing students to interpret complex data and solve real-world problems across diverse industries. Compulsory courses include Mathematics for Engineering, Science and Technology 2, Fundamentals of Statistics, Applied Statistics and Research Methods, Generalised Linear Models, Time Series Forecasting, Systems Thinking for an Integrated Workforce, and Deterministic and Stochastic Optimisation.
