COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science with a Psychology major is designed for students interested in understanding human behaviour, cognition, mental processes, and the factors that influence how people think, learn, and interact. The program combines scientific foundations with psychological theory, research methods, and analytical skills, preparing students to explore complex questions about individuals and society. Students begin with core science courses that develop skills in programming, multidisciplinary laboratory practice, mathematics, statistics, and work-integrated learning before progressing into specialised Psychology studies. The major includes foundational courses such as Psychology Introduction 1 and 2, Cognitive Psychology, Biological Psychology, Advanced Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology, and Advanced Special Topics in Psychology 2. Students can further develop their understanding through additional areas including Animal Behaviour, Individual Differences and Assessment, and Advanced Perception and Learning in Psychology. Through research-based learning and scientific analysis, students gain skills in data interpretation, critical thinking, psychological assessment, and evidence-based approaches to understanding behaviour. Graduates are prepared for careers in areas such as community services, human resources, education, research, health support, marketing, and behavioural analysis.
