COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science with a Physics major is designed for students who want to understand the fundamental principles that govern the natural world, from matter and energy to space, forces, and physical systems. The program combines strong foundations in mathematics, scientific theory, experimental techniques, and analytical problem-solving. Students begin with core science courses that develop essential skills in programming, multidisciplinary laboratory practice, mathematics, statistics, and work-integrated learning before specialising in Physics. The Physics major includes key courses such as Mathematics for Engineering, Science and Technology 1 and 2, Calculus of Science and Engineering, Advanced Physics I and II, Quantum Science, Advanced Mechanics, and Electromagnetism. Students can further extend their knowledge through advanced topics including Complex Analysis, Numerical Methods, and Particles and Space, exploring areas such as quantum systems, computational modelling, particle physics, and astrophysics. Through theoretical learning, laboratory experiences, and mathematical analysis, students develop skills in scientific investigation, data interpretation, modelling, and problem-solving. Graduates are prepared for careers in research, engineering, technology, data science, education, government, and scientific industries.
