COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science with a Mathematics major is designed for students who want to develop advanced analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and their applications. The program begins with core science studies that build essential skills in programming, multidisciplinary laboratory practice, mathematics, statistics, and work-integrated learning. Students specialising in Mathematics explore fundamental and advanced areas of pure and applied mathematics, developing the ability to model, analyse, and solve complex problems across science, technology, engineering, finance, and research fields. The major includes compulsory courses such as Mathematics for Engineering, Science and Technology 2, Complex Analysis, Calculus of Science and Engineering, Linearity and Continuity, and Ordinary Differential Equations and Applied Linear Algebra. Students can further expand their expertise through advanced topics including Algebra, Number Theory, Applied Fourier Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, Numerical Methods, Research Integrated Learning, and Deterministic and Stochastic Optimisation.
