COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Psychological Science/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) combined degree requires students to complete a total of 400 units, consisting of 320 units of core courses and 80 units from the Laws Course List. The program integrates psychological science with comprehensive legal education, allowing students to develop expertise in human behaviour, research, critical analysis, and legal principles. The Psychological Science component includes foundational and advanced studies in research methods, statistics, cognitive psychology, biological psychology, social psychology, mental health, psychological assessment, developmental psychology, and applied psychological practice. Students also complete Work Integrated Learning in Psychology to gain practical experience and apply their knowledge in professional settings. The Law component provides a strong foundation in legal systems, legal reasoning, torts, criminal law, contracts, constitutional law, administrative law, evidence, company law, professional conduct, equity and trusts, property law, and public international law. Through this combination, students develop valuable skills in communication, problem-solving, ethical decision-making, advocacy, and analytical thinking. The program prepares graduates for diverse career pathways including legal practice, community services, policy development, advocacy, human services, and roles where an understanding of psychology and law is highly valuable. Students must complete only courses approved as part of the program requirements.
