COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Music and Performing Arts/Bachelor of Arts requires students to complete a total of 320 units, combining comprehensive study in creative performance and the humanities. The program includes 70 units of core Music and Performing Arts courses that build essential knowledge in music theory, performance, creative practice, collaboration, and industry skills, alongside 30 units of Arts core courses that develop critical thinking, communication, research, and interdisciplinary perspectives. Students must also complete a 10-unit career-ready placement course, providing valuable workplace experience and professional networking opportunities. A key feature of the program is the completion of one 80-unit Music and Performing Arts major and one 80-unit Arts major, enabling students to gain advanced expertise in both creative and academic disciplines. To further personalise their studies, students can choose either 50 units of electives, including at least 20 units at the 2000 or 3000 level, or complete a 40-unit Arts minor together with 10 units of higher-level electives. This flexible curriculum allows students to tailor their education according to their interests and career goals while developing practical, analytical, and creative skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers in music, performing arts, media, education, cultural organisations, creative industries, communications, and other professions requiring adaptability, innovation, and strong interdisciplinary knowledge.
