COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Honours) (Diagnostic Radiography) is an AQF level 8 program designed to prepare graduates for a professional career in diagnostic radiography. Diagnostic radiographers play a critical role in healthcare by producing images of the structure and function of the human body to support medical diagnosis and guide clinical decision-making. Students learn to operate a wide range of advanced imaging technologies, including plain X-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, angiography, and mammography, across diverse clinical settings such as accident and emergency, wards, and operating theatres. This training ensures graduates are equipped to contribute significantly to improved health outcomes and patient care.Throughout the program, students develop a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and clinical reasoning to evaluate and implement modern and evolving diagnostic imaging procedures. Graduates are trained to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams, demonstrating professional communication skills to convey complex information effectively to patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
