COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Media and Communication/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is a five-year combined degree program designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of media, communication, and legal practice. Students are required to successfully complete 400 units comprising core courses, specialised law studies, career-ready placement experiences, and a Media and Communication major. The program includes 70 units of Media and Communication core courses that develop skills in media production, communication strategies, digital technologies, and critical analysis of contemporary media environments. Students also complete 160 units of Laws (Honours) core courses, along with 80 units of additional law courses from the course list, building advanced legal knowledge, research abilities, and professional skills. A 10-unit career-ready placement component provides students with practical experience and opportunities to apply their learning in professional settings. In addition, students select an 80-unit Media and Communication major, allowing them to specialise according to their interests and career goals. By combining legal expertise with communication and media capabilities, this degree prepares graduates for diverse career pathways including legal practice, journalism, policy development, corporate communication, advocacy, media regulation, and roles requiring strong analytical, ethical, and communication skills in complex professional environments.
