COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Business is a five-year combined program designed to provide students with advanced technical knowledge in mechanical engineering alongside essential business skills. The program requires completion of 410 units, including core engineering courses, a selected Business major, and compulsory industrial experience requirements. The Mechanical Engineering component develops expertise in engineering design, mechanics, materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, machine learning, modelling and control, sustainable engineering practices, and project management. Students gain practical skills through engineering work-integrated learning, industry experience, and final-year mechanical engineering projects that apply theoretical concepts to real-world challenges. The Business component allows students to specialise in either Innovation and Entrepreneurship or Leadership and Management, building capabilities in areas such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, strategic thinking, and organisational leadership. This combination enables graduates to understand both the technical and commercial aspects of engineering solutions. The program prepares students for careers in mechanical design, manufacturing, engineering consultancy, project management, business development, and technology-driven industries. By integrating engineering expertise with business knowledge, graduates are equipped to lead innovative projects, manage complex systems, and contribute effectively to modern industrial and global environments.
