COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Mathematics/Bachelor of Science combined program requires students to complete a maximum of 320 units, combining advanced mathematical knowledge with specialised scientific study. The program includes core courses that develop essential skills in programming, mathematical modelling, statistics, data analysis, scientific investigation, and quantitative problem-solving. Students complete a Mathematics major, choosing from areas such as Statistics, Studies in Mathematics and Statistics, or Pure and Applied Mathematics, while also selecting a Bachelor of Science major in disciplines including Biodiversity and Conservation, Earth Science, Psychology, Geography, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or Physics. Students interested in Physics undertake a specialised 120-unit Physics major, while other Science majors consist of 80 units. The program also includes Work Integrated Learning opportunities, allowing students to apply their knowledge through industry or research-based experiences. Through this combination of mathematics and science, students develop strong analytical, computational, and research capabilities that are valuable across a wide range of industries. Graduates are prepared for careers in scientific research, data analysis, technology, environmental management, education, government, and other fields requiring advanced problem-solving and scientific expertise.
