COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) requires students to complete 400 units, combining comprehensive studies in commerce and law to develop expertise in both disciplines. The program includes 220 units of core courses covering accounting, finance, economics, management, business analytics, innovation, and essential legal subjects such as legal systems, torts, criminal law, contracts, constitutional law, administrative law, evidence, company law, equity and trusts, property, public international law, and professional conduct. Students also complete 10 units from a career-ready placement course, selecting from industry placements, industry-led project laboratories, or international work placements to gain practical professional experience. An additional 10 units are chosen from a commerce course list, including ethical business practices, corporate social responsibility, climate change and international politics, or international study experiences. During the final two years, students complete 80 units of advanced law electives, allowing specialization in areas such as taxation, commercial law, family law, intellectual property, international trade, environmental law, arbitration, banking and finance law, mediation, human rights, renewable energy law, and legal innovation. Students must also complete an 80-unit Commerce major in Accounting, Economics, or Finance. The program is structured to ensure students complete only approved courses within the 400-unit limit while developing strong legal, commercial, analytical, communication, and professional skills for diverse career opportunities.
