COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Business is a five-year combined degree program requiring students to complete 410 units through a balanced integration of engineering, business, professional practice, and project-based learning. The program includes 300 units of core courses that develop strong foundations in civil engineering, mathematics, science, technology, and business principles. Students study key areas such as engineering mechanics, earth systems, programming, professional engineering practice, mathematics, physics, surveying, structural analysis, construction materials, geomechanics, transportation engineering, risk management, fluid mechanics, sustainable engineering, reinforced concrete and steel design, hydrology, advanced design analysis, geotechnical engineering, and water engineering. Business knowledge is developed through core subjects in accounting, finance, marketing, management, and sustainability, providing students with essential skills for commercial decision-making and leadership. Students also complete 20 units of design project courses and 10 units of project coursework, allowing them to apply engineering concepts to practical challenges in structural, water, or geotechnical engineering fields. A compulsory industrial experience component provides valuable workplace exposure, helping students develop professional networks and practical skills. In addition, students complete an 80-unit Business major, choosing between Innovation and Entrepreneurship or Leadership and Management. This multidisciplinary program prepares graduates with technical expertise, business awareness, project management abilities, and leadership skills for careers in civil engineering, infrastructure development, construction, consulting, and engineering management.
