COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Business is a five-year combined program requiring students to complete 410 units through a structured combination of engineering, business, and professional experience components. The program includes 330 units of core courses that provide comprehensive knowledge in chemical engineering, science, mathematics, technology, and business fundamentals. Students study essential areas such as chemistry, physics, engineering programming, process engineering, thermodynamics, energy systems, fluid mechanics, sustainable engineering, chemical reactor design, process safety, mass transfer, process modelling, separation processes, simulation and control, engineering project management, and advanced design and research projects. Alongside technical engineering studies, students complete core business subjects in accounting, finance, marketing, management, sustainability, innovation, and design thinking, developing an understanding of commercial decision-making and organizational practices. The program also incorporates compulsory industrial experience, allowing students to apply engineering concepts in professional environments, build industry connections, and develop workplace skills. In addition, students complete an 80-unit Business major, selecting from Innovation and Entrepreneurship or Leadership and Management, which enhances their ability to manage projects, lead teams, and create business solutions. This multidisciplinary program prepares graduates with strong technical expertise, business awareness, problem-solving abilities, and leadership skills for careers in chemical engineering, manufacturing, energy, resources, consulting, project management, and technology-driven industries.
