COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Relations course list is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of global politics, international economies, diplomacy, policy development, and contemporary global challenges. These courses develop students’ ability to analyse international issues, understand relationships between nations, and evaluate the political, economic, and social forces shaping the modern world. IREL2001 International Policy, Politics and the Economy introduces students to global governance, international institutions, and the interaction between political decisions and economic systems. IREL2002 Business and the Politics of Globalisation explores the relationship between global markets, multinational organisations, and political processes. IREL2003 The International Politics of Climate Change and the Future World examines global environmental challenges and international responses to sustainability issues. IREL2004 Diplomacy, Trade and Politics focuses on international negotiations, trade relations, and diplomatic practices. At the advanced level, IREL3001 Public Diplomacy and Social Media explores how digital communication influences international engagement, while IREL3002 Global Data Governance for Just and Sustainable Futures examines the role of data, technology, and governance in addressing global challenges. IREL3003 International Relations in a Changing World Order analyses shifts in global power and international systems, and IREL3004 Indigenising International Politics, Policy and the Economy explores diverse perspectives in global affairs. Together, these courses prepare graduates for careers in government, international organisations, NGOs, diplomacy, policy analysis, global business, and research.
