COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science is a flexible interdisciplinary program that combines scientific understanding with the study of human society, culture, and ideas. The program begins with core courses designed to build foundational skills, including BA Futures, Introduction to Programming, Multidisciplinary Laboratories, BA Practice, and BA Project. Students also complete mathematics and statistics courses to develop essential analytical and quantitative abilities that support their chosen areas of study. The program provides opportunities for practical learning through career-ready placement courses, professional studios, work-integrated learning, and science-based industry experiences. Students select an Arts major from a wide range of disciplines, including English and Writing, History, International Relations, Psychology Studies, Sociology and Anthropology, Linguistics, Japanese Studies, Performing Arts, and Screen and Cultural Studies, along with an optional Arts minor or electives. The Science component allows students to specialise in areas such as Biological Sciences, Biodiversity and Conservation, Chemistry, Earth Science, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Statistics, and Communication. By combining scientific investigation with creative, social, and cultural perspectives, the program develops adaptable skills in research, problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking. Graduates are prepared for diverse career opportunities across science, education, research, technology, environmental sectors, government, and community-focused organisations.
