COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) / Bachelor of Laws is a double degree requiring students to complete a total of 288 Units of Credit (UOC), combining 144 UOC in Psychology and 144 UOC in Law. The program integrates the scientific study of human behaviour with a comprehensive legal education, preparing graduates for careers that require both psychological insight and legal expertise. The Psychology (Honours) component (Program 3632) consists of advanced study in psychological science and includes core coursework across key areas such as cognitive, developmental, social, and clinical psychology, along with research methods and statistical analysis. A major feature of the Honours year is the completion of an independent research project under academic supervision, which develops strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. The Law component (Program 4701) includes 96 UOC of compulsory law courses that provide a strong foundation in legal principles, systems, and reasoning. In addition, students complete 6 UOC of prescribed law electives and 42 UOC of law elective courses, allowing for deeper exploration of specialised legal fields and the development of advanced legal knowledge. Together, the Psychology and Law components create a highly interdisciplinary qualification that equips graduates with strong critical thinking, communication, and ethical reasoning skills. This combination prepares students for diverse career pathways in law, psychology, criminal justice, policy development, research, and other professional fields where understanding both human behaviour and legal systems is essential.
