COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Psychological Science / Bachelor of Laws is a five-year double degree requiring students to complete a total of 240 Units of Credit (UOC), combining 144 UOC in Law and 96 UOC in Psychological Science. The program is designed to integrate the study of human behaviour with legal principles, producing graduates who are skilled in both psychological analysis and legal reasoning. The Psychological Science component consists of 78 UOC of core Psychology courses, which provide a strong foundation in areas such as cognitive processes, social psychology, developmental psychology, mental health, and research methods. In addition, students complete 18 UOC of Free Electives, allowing them to broaden their studies or explore complementary disciplines. The Law component includes 96 UOC of compulsory core courses that establish a solid grounding in legal principles, legal systems, and reasoning skills. Students also complete 6 UOC of prescribed law theory electives and 42 UOC of law elective courses, which enable deeper study in specialised legal areas and support the development of advanced analytical, research, and communication skills. Together, the Psychological Science (Program 3435) and Law (Program 4701) components create a strong interdisciplinary qualification. Graduates gain a unique understanding of how psychological factors influence legal systems, decision-making, and justice processes. This combination prepares students for careers in law, psychology-related fields, criminal justice, policy development, social research, and other professions that require both legal expertise and insight into human behaviour.
