COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Media / Bachelor of Arts double degree requires students to complete a total of 192 Units of Credit (UOC), with 96 UOC allocated to the Bachelor of Media and 96 UOC to the Bachelor of Arts. The program is designed to provide both practical media skills and a broad academic foundation in the humanities and social sciences. The Bachelor of Media component includes 24 UOC of Foundation courses, 48 UOC of Specialisation courses, and 24 UOC of Expansion courses. Foundation courses introduce key areas such as media practice, communication, and cultural studies, while the Specialisation allows students to focus in-depth on fields such as cinema studies, communication and journalism, media studies, public relations and advertising, or screen production. Expansion courses enable students to study topics outside their main specialisation, promoting interdisciplinary learning and broader media understanding. The Bachelor of Arts component also consists of 96 UOC and provides flexible study pathways. Students may complete one Major specialisation of 48 UOC, one Minor specialisation of 36 UOC, and 12 UOC of prescribed electives, or alternatively choose to complete two Major specialisations of 48 UOC each. This structure allows students to tailor their academic experience to their interests and career goals. Overall, the degree combines creative media practice with critical academic study, equipping graduates with strong communication, analytical, and professional skills for diverse careers.
