COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Media is a structured three-year program requiring the completion of 144 Units of Credit (UOC), designed to provide students with both foundational knowledge and specialised expertise in media and communication fields. The degree begins with 24 UOC of Foundation courses, which are divided into 12 UOC of Focus courses and 12 UOC of Grounding courses. Focus courses introduce key areas such as Introduction to Film Studies, Screen Production I, Public Relations and Advertising Foundations, News Fundamentals, and Digital Entrepreneurship, while Grounding courses explore broader themes including Media, Culture and Everyday Life, Media, Society and Politics, and Data in Our World. Students then complete 48 UOC of Specialisation courses in a chosen area such as Cinema Studies, Communication and Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations and Advertising, or Screen Production, allowing for in-depth disciplinary focus. The program also includes 24 UOC of Expansion courses, which must be selected from other specialisations within the Bachelor of Media, ensuring interdisciplinary exposure and academic breadth, including a mix of level 2 and level 3 courses. In addition, students complete 36 UOC of optional minor or free elective courses, which may be used to pursue a minor within media or related disciplines in Arts, Design & Architecture, or Business. Finally, 12 UOC of General Education courses broaden students’ academic perspective beyond media-specific subjects. Overall, the program blends theory, creativity, and practical learning to prepare graduates for diverse careers in media industries.
