COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Information Systems / Bachelor of Computer Science double degree requires students to complete a total of 192 Units of Credit (UOC), combining 96 UOC from Computer Science and 120 UOC from Information Systems, with 24 UOC of overlapping content double-counted across both programs. This structure allows students to integrate technical computing expertise with applied business and systems knowledge in an efficient and cohesive study pathway. The Computer Science component (Bachelor of Science in Computer Science) consists of 96 UOC and focuses on core computing principles and computing electives, equipping students with strong foundations in programming, algorithms, data structures, and software development. The Information Systems component (120 UOC) includes 30 UOC of Business Core Courses, 72 UOC of Information Systems Core Courses, and additional elective and experiential learning requirements. Some adjustments apply across both degrees, such as substituting COMM1110 with approved mathematics courses, and recognising COMP1531 as equivalent to INFS2822. Certain computing subjects may also replace specific Information Systems electives, ensuring flexibility and academic alignment. The program further includes 12 UOC of Information Systems electives, 6 UOC of Work Integrated Learning that can be completed through either discipline, and additional business electives as needed to meet the final credit requirements. Overall, this double degree provides a balanced and highly integrated education in both computer science and information systems, preparing graduates for careers in software engineering, systems analysis, IT consulting, and digital business innovation.
