COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Information Systems is a structured three-year undergraduate program requiring the completion of 144 Units of Credit (UOC) when taken as a standalone degree. The program is designed to build strong foundations in business, technology, and systems thinking, combining core disciplinary knowledge with practical and flexible learning components. The degree includes 30 UOC of IFY Business Core Courses, which provide essential understanding of business principles and organisational contexts in which information systems operate. Students also complete 72 UOC of Information Systems Core Courses, forming the central component of the degree and covering key areas such as systems analysis, digital transformation, database design, and business analytics. In addition, 12 UOC of Level 2 and 3 prescribed Information Systems electives allow students to deepen their expertise in specialised areas of interest. The program also includes a 6 UOC Work Integrated Learning course, providing valuable industry experience and practical application of skills in real-world settings. To ensure academic breadth, students complete 12 UOC of free electives, which may be used to explore complementary disciplines or broaden professional knowledge. Finally, 12 UOC of General Education courses encourage interdisciplinary learning beyond the field of information systems. Together, these components create a balanced and career-focused degree that equips graduates with technical, analytical, and professional skills required for roles in information systems, business analysis, and digital innovation across diverse industries.
