COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) combined with the Bachelor of Science is a five-year full-time double degree program requiring 240 Units of Credit (UOC), designed to integrate advanced engineering training with broad scientific knowledge. The Engineering (Honours) component accounts for 168 UOC and includes the selection of one of 18 engineering majors, allowing students to specialise in fields aligned with their interests and career goals. This component also includes 60 days of Engineering Professional Practice, ensuring students gain essential industry experience and workplace readiness. Within the Engineering structure, students complete at least 48 UOC of disciplinary knowledge and enquiry-based courses, 30–42 UOC of introductory core courses, and a minimum of 12 UOC of electives, providing both depth and flexibility in technical learning. The Science component contributes 96 UOC and is designed to build strong foundational and applied scientific understanding. It includes five core courses covering orientation, a graduate portfolio, and employability experience subjects that enhance career development skills. Students also complete one approved Science major from a wide range of disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, neuroscience, and biodiversity. An optional minor and additional science electives may also be undertaken where required. This integrated structure allows students to combine analytical scientific thinking with practical engineering skills, producing graduates who are well prepared for careers in research, technology, innovation, environmental science, and engineering-driven industries.
