COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) combined with the Bachelor of Commerce is a 264 Units of Credit (UOC) double degree designed to integrate technical engineering expertise with strong business and management capabilities. The Engineering component consists of 168 UOC within a chosen specialisation, along with a mandatory requirement of 60 days of Industrial Training through ENGG4999, ensuring students gain practical industry experience and professional engineering skills. The Commerce component contributes 96 UOC and is structured to provide a solid foundation in business disciplines. It includes integrated first-year Commerce-related courses (42 UOC), although Engineering students are exempt from COMM1110 as equivalent learning is covered in their Engineering studies. Students then complete a Commerce major worth 48 UOC, which can be tailored to areas such as finance, marketing, international business, or business analytics. The remaining credit is completed through business electives to meet the total 96 UOC requirement. Students may also undertake a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course, which can be satisfied through either Engineering industrial training or a Commerce WIL subject. In the final year, students may complete a synthesis course such as DESN3000, depending on their study plan, to integrate learning across disciplines. Some course substitutions may apply due to exclusions between subjects like COMP3311, INFS1603, and COMM2822, ensuring students maintain balanced academic progression. Overall, this program develops graduates who can combine engineering innovation with business strategy, preparing them for leadership roles across technical, commercial, and interdisciplinary industries.
