COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) combined with the Bachelor of Engineering Science is a structured five-year double degree program requiring a total of 240 Units of Credit (UOC) after accounting for a 24 UOC reduction due to overlapping coursework between the two degrees. In total, students initially complete 264 UOC, consisting of 168 UOC from the Engineering (Honours) specialisation and 96 UOC from the Engineering Science specialisation. The Engineering (Honours) component includes a full 168 UOC disciplinary program, along with at least 60 days of approved Industrial Training to ensure professional experience, plus 6 UOC of Free Electives. The Engineering Science component consists of a 96 UOC specialisation, also including 6 UOC of Free Electives. Together, these free electives contribute to a required 12 UOC of elective study, which may include Engineering or non-Engineering subjects. Due to overlapping course structures between the two degrees, certain subjects are double-counted, reducing the total required workload to 240 UOC in most cases. However, depending on the specific combination of Engineering (Honours) and Engineering Science specialisations, additional overlaps may occur, requiring students to take extra Engineering electives to meet the minimum credit requirement. Only approved specialisation pairings are available, including combinations across fields such as Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental, Mining, Robotics, Renewable Energy, Photovoltaics, and Energy systems. This program provides deep interdisciplinary engineering training, combining practical industry experience with advanced technical knowledge, preparing graduates for diverse and specialised engineering careers.
