COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) combined with the Bachelor of Arts is a structured double degree program requiring the completion of 264 Units of Credit (UOC), with 168 UOC from Engineering and 96 UOC from Arts, Design and Architecture. In some cases, the total load can be reduced to 240 UOC over five years if students take Mathematics for Engineers as a minor stream within the Arts component. The Engineering portion includes a minimum of 168 UOC along with at least 60 days of approved industrial training to ensure practical industry experience. Within Engineering, students complete a combination of introductory knowledge core courses (approximately 30–42 UOC), foundation disciplinary knowledge courses, at least 48 UOC of advanced disciplinary and enquiry-based learning, and a minimum of 12 UOC of electives, allowing flexibility to explore specialised or interdisciplinary areas. The Arts component requires 96 UOC and offers flexibility in academic structure. Students may complete one major (48 UOC) combined with a minor (36 UOC) plus 12 UOC of prescribed electives, or alternatively pursue two majors (48 UOC each) for deeper specialisation across disciplines. The Arts program allows study in areas such as humanities, languages, philosophy, history, business, and social sciences. This integrated structure equips students with both strong technical engineering capabilities and broad analytical, communication, and critical thinking skills, producing graduates who are adaptable, interdisciplinary, and well prepared for diverse professional careers.
