COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil) / Bachelor of Surveying double degree requires a total of 240 UOC to be completed, following a 72 UOC reduction from double-counted courses. The program combines two complementary disciplinary components to provide graduates with professional accreditation in both engineering and surveying. The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) component contributes 168 UOC and includes the Civil Engineering specialisation (CVENAH), which builds strong technical expertise in structural, geotechnical, transport, and water engineering, along with construction and project management skills. This component also includes at least 60 days of approved industrial training through ENGG4999, ensuring students gain essential real-world industry experience. The Bachelor of Surveying component accounts for 144 UOC and focuses on spatial information science and land measurement disciplines. It includes 72 UOC of Engineering Foundation Core Courses, 66 UOC of Surveying Core Courses, and 6 UOC of Professional Electives, providing a strong balance of theoretical knowledge and applied technical training. Since the Engineering Foundation Core Courses are already completed within the Civil Engineering specialisation, they are double counted, reducing the overall program load by 72 UOC. This integrated structure allows efficient completion of both qualifications while equipping graduates with expertise in infrastructure development, construction, and geospatial technologies, leading to diverse career opportunities across engineering, surveying, and the built environment sector.
