COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) requires students to complete a total of 192 UOC when taken as a standalone program. The degree is designed to combine technical depth, practical experience, and academic flexibility to prepare students for professional engineering careers. The main component is a 168 UOC engineering specialisation, where students develop advanced knowledge and skills in their chosen field of engineering. In addition, all students are required to complete ENGG4999, which involves 60 days of industrial training, providing essential real-world industry experience and professional exposure. The program also includes 12 UOC of General Education, allowing students to broaden their academic learning beyond engineering and gain interdisciplinary perspectives. Another 12 UOC is allocated to Free Electives, enabling students to explore subjects of personal or professional interest outside their core engineering discipline. Students may also choose to complete an Optional Minor worth 24 UOC, which allows further specialisation or diversification in a related area of study. Overall, this structure ensures a balanced education that integrates strong technical foundations, hands-on industry training, and flexible learning opportunities. Graduates emerge with the practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and professional readiness required to succeed in a wide range of engineering industries, both in Australia and internationally.
