COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Renewable Energy is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in engineering principles while developing specialised expertise in sustainable energy technologies. In the first year, students typically study two introductory Mathematics courses, an introductory Physics course, and an introductory Computing course, along with a course related to their chosen specialisation. These subjects establish the scientific and technical knowledge required for advanced engineering study. All students also complete ENGG1000 “Introduction to Engineering Design and Innovation,” where they learn to apply engineering thinking and develop practical solutions while managing constraints such as time, budget, and resources. In the second year, students undertake courses from the Renewable Energy specialisation alongside core subjects that build fundamental knowledge in their area of interest. During the third and fourth years, students expand their expertise through a combination of advanced core and elective courses, allowing them to explore various aspects of renewable energy systems and technologies in greater depth. The program also includes two General Education electives, which broaden learning beyond engineering and strengthen cross-disciplinary thinking, adaptability, and critical analysis skills. In addition, students are required to complete 60 days of industrial training, providing valuable real-world experience and professional exposure before graduation. This multidisciplinary structure connects students with academics and industry professionals, ensuring graduates develop the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional capabilities needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving renewable energy sector.
