COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering specialisation within the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program is structured to provide a progressive and industry-focused learning experience. In the first year, students typically study two introductory Mathematics courses, an introductory Physics course, and an introductory Computing course, along with an introductory course related to their chosen specialisation, building essential foundations for advanced engineering study. All students also complete ENGG1000 “Introduction to Engineering Design and Innovation,” where they develop core engineering thinking skills by designing solutions under real-world constraints such as limited time, budget, and resources. In the second year, students begin studying courses specific to their chosen specialisation while also undertaking core subjects that establish fundamental knowledge in mechanical and manufacturing engineering. In the third and fourth years, students deepen their expertise through a combination of advanced core and elective courses, allowing for specialisation in areas such as product design, manufacturing systems, and industrial engineering. Throughout the degree, students are required to complete two General Education electives, which broaden their academic perspective and strengthen cross-disciplinary thinking, adaptability, and critical analysis skills. The program also includes 60 days of industrial training, providing valuable real-world experience and professional exposure. Overall, this structure integrates theoretical knowledge, practical application, and industry engagement to prepare graduates for successful engineering careers.
