COURSE CURRICULUM

The Aerospace Engineering specialisation requires students to complete 168 UOC, structured to progressively build technical expertise and professional capability across four levels of study. At Level 1, students undertake Core Courses worth 48 UOC that introduce fundamental concepts in mathematics, physics, and basic engineering principles essential for aerospace study. Level 2 Core Courses worth 42 UOC develop intermediate knowledge in areas such as mechanics, materials, and introductory aerospace systems, strengthening analytical and problem-solving skills. At Level 3, students complete 36 UOC of Core Courses that focus on more advanced aerospace topics, including aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, and flight mechanics, preparing them for complex engineering challenges. Level 4 Core Courses worth 12 UOC emphasise specialised knowledge and professional engineering practice at an advanced level. The program also includes 12 UOC of Thesis Courses, where students undertake independent research and apply their engineering knowledge to a significant aerospace-related problem or design project. In addition, students complete 6 UOC of Recommended Discipline Electives and 12 UOC of Discipline Electives, allowing them to tailor their studies to specific interests within aerospace engineering. Overall, this structure ensures a strong balance of theoretical learning, technical depth, and research experience, preparing graduates for careers in aerospace design, aviation, defence, and advanced engineering industries.
