COURSE CURRICULUM

The Double Degree Structure requires students to complete a total of 192 UOC, combining studies from both Economics and Education. The Economics component accounts for 96 UOC and is made up of four parts: an Introductory Business Core worth 6 UOC, Economics Core Courses worth 48 UOC, Economics Electives worth 30 UOC, and Business School Electives worth 12 UOC. Students also have the option to organise their Economics core and elective subjects into a formal Economics major, with certain courses counting toward both core requirements and the major simultaneously, ensuring efficient progression through the program. The second half of the degree is the Bachelor of Education (Secondary), also worth 96 UOC, which focuses on teaching preparation and pedagogical training. This includes an Education Core worth 66 UOC, Prescribed Education Method Electives worth 24 UOC that develop subject-specific teaching strategies, and Prescribed Education Electives worth 6 UOC that allow additional specialization or support learning areas. Overall, the structure is designed to balance subject expertise in Economics with professional teacher training, preparing graduates for careers in both education and economics-related fields.
