COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Economics / Computer Science double degree requires students to complete a total of 192 Units of Credit (UOC), combining structured study in both economics and computer science. The economics component accounts for 96 UOC and includes a 6 UOC introductory business course that provides foundational knowledge of business concepts. Students then complete 48 UOC of core economics courses, which build essential understanding in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and econometric methods. In addition, 30 UOC of economics electives allow students to explore specialised areas and tailor their learning, while 12 UOC of business electives provide further flexibility and breadth. Students may also structure their studies so that selected economics core and elective courses contribute toward an optional economics major, depending on course rules. The computer science component also totals 96 UOC and forms a complete Bachelor of Computer Science major. This includes comprehensive study in programming, algorithms, data structures, and other core areas of computing that develop strong technical and problem-solving skills. Together, the two disciplines create a balanced program that integrates analytical economic thinking with advanced computational abilities. Graduates gain interdisciplinary expertise suited for careers in data science, software development, financial technology, analytics, consulting, and other technology-driven industries, making them highly adaptable in a rapidly evolving global job market.
