COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce / Science at UNSW is a four-year double degree program that requires students to complete a total of 192 Units of Credit (UOC), equally split between 96 UOC in Commerce and 96 UOC in Science. The Commerce component includes 42–48 UOC of Integrated First-Year courses, although some students may be exempt from certain introductory business subjects depending on their mathematics or psychology course selections. Students then complete a 48 UOC Commerce major in a chosen business discipline such as finance, marketing, economics, or analytics. They also complete a Work Integrated Learning course, which may be taken through either Commerce or Science, giving students real-world industry experience. A Final Year Synthesis project (0–6 UOC) helps integrate their learning, and students must complete additional business electives to meet the 96 UOC requirement. The Science component includes core science courses, an approved Science major, and science elective courses that allow students to specialise in areas such as biotechnology, physics, chemistry, neuroscience, or mathematics. The program also includes employability experience courses that build professional and research skills. Overall, this double degree equips students with strong analytical, scientific, and business capabilities, preparing them for careers in science industries, business, consulting, research, data analysis, and technology-driven roles across a wide range of sectors.
